Why We Use
"Member Selection Pool"
Instead of "Waitlist"

We’ve stopped using the term "waitlist" because it suggests that everyone on it will eventually get a spot, which isn't the case. Instead, we now call it our Member Selection Pool. While being in the pool doesn’t guarantee a unit, it’s the first step toward joining our co-op.

Co-op housing offers many advantages, including affordable living in a city like Vancouver, which makes it highly sought after. On average, each unit size has about 150 active applications, but with only 30 units and rare move-outs, we can’t promise everyone a spot.

We prioritize applicants who actively show interest in co-op living and their potential contributions. For example, a long-standing applicant without clear reasons for joining may be less likely to get an interview than someone who recently applied and expresses a genuine interest in co-op life.
